Pupil Leadership
Throughout school we offer a range of opportunities for our children to have additional responsibilities. The aims of these roles are to promote independence, resilience and give further opportunities to demonstrate our proud values. Children are encouraged to base their responsibilities on their hobbies and interests and reflect on the qualities that they could bring to the school. We want our children to be reflective about what they can offer to leadership roles in school, considering their vital role within our school community.
Each role is determined by a voting system. This always includes pupils and some votes include staff, parents and the wider school community. We encourage children to be an active part in democracy and to understand how this contributes to fairness and equality by applying it to their own school experience.
Pupil Leadership roles include:
- School Council
- Reading Ambassadors
- Play Leaders
- Art Monitors
- Prefects
- Head Boy/Girl
- Deputy Head Boy/Girl
The Head Girl and Head Boy and deputies carry out a wide range of duties over the year including assemblies, showing visitors around our school and representing the school at events and special occasions.
