As you know, the school was subject to a full Ofsted inspection at the start of this term. Inspectors looked at the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management and early years provision.
This is the first time in 11 years that the school has received a "Good" outcome. I would like to thank everyone involved with John Wheeldon over the last two or three years for their commitment to improve the lives and experiences of the young people at the school.
As you know, this judgement follows record results in last year’s tests and clearly reflects the work that is done here.
Children will have been told this outcome by the time you receive this - hopefully you will also have picked up the news on the playground if you were here at home time. This is the first time the school has been judged as "Good" in the lifetime of any child who attends here. We are all very Proud of ourselves today!
